How to connect two windows 7 Computer with Remote Desktop

Most of us have multiple computer in our home including laptop. Many times we get the situation in which we want to use the other computer because we have some data store there. But our brother playing game and telling us to wait until he finish the game. Those type of or similar situation really annoy us and drink our blood. What we can do in these type of situation. You can remotely connect both the computers. Then you can use both computers data at same time without jumping around with pen drive or storage devices.

Windows 7 has built in remote desktop feature which help you to connect both the computer very easily. You can even connect to other version of computer like vista XP but you have to set It up before connecting in this post I will guide you to connect two windows 7 computer with remote desktop.

Connect two windows 7 computer together remotely

  • First of all set up your computer whom you want to connect. Right click on Computer and select properties

  • Now click on Remote settings

  • Now click on third option "Allow connections only from computers running remote desktop with network level authentication (more secure)" or 2nd option which is less secure but work same as third option.

  • You have allowed other computer to connect with your computer. Now you should know your computer address to connect. For that press window key and type cmd.exe and open it

  • Now type ipconfig and hit enter. it will display you your computer ipv4 address which will required to connect with computer remotely.

  • Now your computer is ready to connect with any computer using same  local area network.
  • Just press window key and type Remote desktop connection and open it

  • Now just enter ipv4 address and press connect.

  • Now it will ask you username and password of the computer your connecting with. just enter that and your ready to use other computer remotely.
First setup your other computer whom you want to connect and then note its ipv4 address and then connect with any computer running on same network. If you see any certificate error just ignore it. If you want to connect your computer with any other network in this world you have to forward your computer port and then follow all these steps. but make sure your computer turn on. If your other computer is Sleep and Hibernate then you can't connect to the computer. So setup power option also of your other computer.
