Micromax Indian mobile makers have start raining smartphones in Indian market. So as lava has also started introducing new mobiles. They both are providing low cost high-end mobiles frequently. Micromax already set their market in India but lava still finding ways to get a seat on Indian smartphone market.
They both have 5.0 Inches 1280x720 Resolution HD IPS Display. Canvas HD has 294 pixel per inches but Xolo A1000 has 295ppi. But they both are using different Display technology. Lava is using a unique technology that they called one glass solution (OGS). In that they installed only single layer glass which has touch capability as well. That’s why it’s slimmer than Canvas HD. The canvas HD is 10.7mm and Xolo A1000 is 8.8mm. So you can see A1000 is slimmer than canvas HD. They both have same display quality 1 ppi won't create much difference. (Its a Draw)
Camera:
They both are dual camera phone. They both are having 8 MP camera primary cameras with autofocus and LED flash. But Canvas HD is dual flash. Xolo A1000 is using BSI (backside illumination) sensor. But the image quality is same with primary camera. The difference maker can be front camera of both devices. Canvas HD has 2MP Front facing camera but Xolo a1000 has only 1.2MP camera. Processor & Chipset:
Canvas HD has 1.2 GHz Quad core Cortex A7 processor with Mediatek MT6589 chipset and Xolo A1000 has 1GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor with Mediatek MT6577 chipset. If you don’t know much about chipset and processor let me tell you about these models. A7 processor is much faster and less power consuming processor than Cortex A9. MT6577 is quite old its use for quad core processor mid-range price mobiles but MT6589 new launched in December 2012. It’s a quad core processor chipset which use for mid-range to high-range price mobiles. So it’s clear that Canvas HD A116 has better chipset and processor. (Micromax A116 Canvas HD Won)
GPU & Memory:
Canvas HD has PowerVR Series5XT they didn’t mention which GPU model they are using. But as we know in their canvas 2 they had used SGX544. So I don’t think they will continue same GPU on this model because it much advances than old canvas. So it might be SGX554 which was launched in the same month of mt6589 chipset launch. Xolo A1000 using very old GPU PowerVR SGX 531 which was launched in 2006.
If you look at the memory of these both phones they have same memory specs 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 4GB internal memory and 32GB expendable memory. But in the end again canvas HD beat Xolo a1000 because of new GPU. (Micromax A116 Canvas HD A116 Won)

Canvas HD has 2000 mAh battery and Xolo has 2100 mAh battery. In this case Xolo has better battery power. But Cortex A9 processor of Xolo A1000 consumes more power than Canvas HD processor A7. But if you don’t do multi-tasking then on stand-by canvas can last long for 174 hours but xolo can last long for 350 hours. A1000 on 3G can last long 10 hours but canvas will be only 5 hours. Micromax A116 way better than lava but still lava a1000 price too high
micromax really rocks, no doubt features wise there is no big difference between two gadgets but micromax stands itself as brand, this thing always favors for micromax.
