In two condition your windows 7 computer should boot on log on screen mode. Condition 1 when you set password for your windows 7 account your computer always boot on log on mode and when you enter the correct password it will open your account. Condition number 2 when you have more than 1 account in your windows 7 computer it will surely ask for which account should your computer open and when you click on your account it will open it.

But many time windows 7 users complaint that they have only single user window 7 computer and they don’t even set password on it. But it still always boot on log on mode and when they click on it only then it bring them to desktop.
