After that, I thought there would be many others who wants to degrade to windows 7. So I started writing for my internet brothers from another mother. Many of you have bought a new PC and it came with windows 8 operating system and people who have installed 8 just to check new operating system and now they are stuck on it. The main reason for people for going downgrade to windows 7 is that windows 8 don't support many drivers and software's even few multiplayer games as well. Never mind whatever your reason if you want to go back to windows 7 just follow my procedure.

How To Downgrade To Windows 8 To Windows 7

Ok there any few methods to downgrade to windows 7 for users those didn’t get pre-installed windows 8 in their laptop or pc but if you get windows 8 pre-installed in your pc then you only have 1 way to downgrade. You should have windows 8 pro installed in your laptop or computer then you can downgrade to windows 7 professional and windows vista only. I am going to show you two method one for preinstalled windows 8 pro laptop/computer users and second is for upgraded users who updated their pc from windows 7 to windows 8.

For PC Which Came With Windows 8 Pro Pre Installed

Before doing anything just create system restore image. If anything goes wrong it will help you to come back to windows 8 again. Even in future if you changed your mind you can come back to windows 8.
Just go to control panel >> backup and restore.
Click on Create a system image. Choice is your where you save it on DVD or hard disk.
Note: Do not try to skip this step at any cost just do it. It is very important step in whole procedure.
Now you need all the important drivers for windows 7. Open device manager ÿ + pause break or just type devmgmt.msc on run (ÿ + R). Now write down the model number of your all computer component or just take a screenshot with the help of snipping tool. Don’t skip it especially for your display adapter and network adapter/ wifi adapter. Now search drivers on internet for your computer components which works for windows 7.
If you are using single partition computer then back up your important software’s and important files some where on usb or dvd. Hope you have backup whatever I told you because procedure can be go wrong if you did something wrong. So please backup for your own safety.
Ok now you need a windows 7 professional dvd with activation key hope you have it. So insert it in your cd/dvd driver and boot your computer on CD/DVD and press any key to start the procedure. Your computer will restart few times while installing windows 7. After the installation complete you can install your drivers if needed. Restore your important software and files back to computer.

For Users Who Upgraded to Windows 8

For you the procedure is simple and easy just insert windows 7 dvd and boot with CD/DVD press any key when it ask to press. after installation successfully completed enjoy your windows 7 computer. you can install any windows 7 version ultimate, professional, enterprises etc

Alternative method: Suppose you don’t have windows 7 DVD. After installing windows 8 you thought you wouldn’t need it so you gave it to somebody. No problem there is a way to get back to windows 7 without losing old data that you had in windows 7. But in order to do that your computer should full fill these requriments:
  • Your PC should have windows.old folder in your windows 8 partition drive
  • You should have a USB or CD/DVD with parted magic if you download have download and burn it in your dvd or usb.
Now just boot your computer with CD/DVD or usb in which you burned parted magic.
After boot open file manager and rename the folders I mentioned below from windows 8 drive.
  • Windows
  • Program Files
  • Program Files (x86) [64 bit users only]
  • ProgramData
  • Perflogs
  • Users
Rename it to anything like windows8, program Files8 like that. In future if you want to use windows 8 you can again rename them to original to come back to windows 8. Ok after renaming just copy all folder inside windows.old and paste those folders to windows 8 drive where you renamed folders for example: C:\windows.old\folders to C:\ after that restart your computer. Your computer will boot into windows 7 and you will get your old data.
