Window 8 has many features but they forgot or may be left an important feature in modern pc. Ad-hoc network they didn’t add this feature in window 8. How to Create Wifi Hotspot in Windows 8
- Download Virtual Router Plus
- Extract it
- Run VirtualRouterPlus.exe (you don't need to install it)
- After program launched
- Enter a name for your network
- Create your WiFi password
- Select connection you want to share
- Now click Start Virtual Router Plus
Now you can connect your device with recently created wifi hotspot. Instead of subscribing internet data plans on your device. You can simple create a hotspot zone in your house and connect with your devices it will save your money.

I get the same error message with Virtual Router Plus on my Windows 7 computer: "Supported hardware may not be found." I've run the command as suggested and my computer says "Hosted network supported: Yes"

Same problem for me. The Wifi is visible and connecton is OK btu no access to internet from Iphone, Android or MAc.
When I do this sharing on the mac, the W8 computer cannot connect either. The wifi is seen but the connection doesn't succeed. Iphone and other android can connect on the mac.

I have the iball Airway 7.2MP - 18 dongle which I never used as I rather use a cable internet connection on my desktop. I don't have wifi adapter. Can I use the iball dongle as an wifi adapter on my desktop so that my wife can access internet on her android mobile while I am browsing on my desktop ?

I tried to use the "USB Internet sharing" feature on my mobile as described in some websites but it is not working. I am not sure if any step is missed. This is what I did...
1. Connected my mobile to my desktop.
2. Went to Settings -> Wireless & Networks and checked the "USB Internet" feature that supposedly allows to share Windows PC internet via USB cable.
3. On my desktop, went to Network and Sharing Center -> Change adapter settings and enabled "Allow other users to connect through this computer's internet connection" and selected the appropriate connection created when I connected my mobile. I read on some site that it is the one which would mention "NDIS based internet sharing".
Once this is done, I am expected to be able to access internet on my mobile through my PC. But pages does not open. I tried it several times and on two different mobile phones.
I checked out two different youtube videos and both mentioned just the above steps. Are there any other steps required in this process ?
